OurAlenondesign is based on a 16th century child-sized armor in the collection of, thought to have been made for Hercules-Franois d'Alenonthe fourth and last son of King Henry IIwhen he was six years old. Like many French armors of this period, the extant armor does not include leg defenses beyond the tassets, though it is not clear whether these pieces never existed or have simply not survived to the present day. The beautiful harness features an intricate clover-like design, evoking Italian textile patterns of the time.
